Semax is a seven-residue peptide, Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, developed at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Molecular Genetics. It is an ACTH(4-10) analogue lacking ACTH's hormonal activity. It is registered in the Russian Federation as a prescription pharmaceutical, but holds no UK marketing authorisation.

How to reconstitute Semax?
Once the vial is at room temperature and the stopper has been swabbed, the bacteriostatic water goes in along the glass wall, away from the powder. Keep rolling until the solution is clear, and do not shake. The volume chosen fixes the concentration; for the 5mg vial, 1ml gives 5 mg/ml, 2ml gives 2.5 mg/ml, 3ml gives 1.67 mg/ml, 5ml gives 1 mg/ml.
How to reconstitute Semax 10mg?
Spread through the four usual volumes, 10mg works out like this: 1ml gives 10 mg/ml, 2ml gives 5 mg/ml, 3ml gives 3.33 mg/ml, 5ml gives 2 mg/ml. Here, Semax is sold as 5mg; the arithmetic is the same for any vial, label milligrams divided by millilitres added.

- A chilled vial should warm to room temperature first.
